HOW TO ARRIVE

The Can Benet Vives campus is located in the heart of the Montnegre Natural Park, 50 km from Barcelona city (Catalonia, Spain). Our facilities are in the middle of forests of oak, pines, chestnut and arbutus at a height of 550 m above sea level. We are near the Romanesque hermitage of Hortsavinyà.

ACCESS TO CAN BENET VIVES

Access is easy by private vehicle. Public transport reaches the nearby towns of Calella and Tordera. From this point you need your own vehicle to access the Natural Park.

The campus has an 8-seat taxi service that can pick you up at the airport, central station of Sants (Barcelona), Calella or Tordera.

ACCESS BY TRAIN

There are trains from Barcelona and Girona every 20 minutes. From Barcelona, trains depart from Sants station. Trains can also be taken at Plaza Catalunya and Arc del Triomf. The nearest station to Can Benet Vives is Calella. From the station to Can Benet Vives, you can take a taxi.

ACCESS BY CAR

Take the coastal motorway (C-32) to Calella, and ascend to Can Benet by a wide and well maintained road. When leaving the C-32 motorway, go towards ‘Calella center’ (not towards Platges, Playas). This places you on the national road towards Barcelona, and runs for 1 km across Calella. When you reach St. Jaume Hospital (building to the right), take the road towards Hortsavinyà, a Romanesque hermitage that gives name to the valley where Can Benet is located. From Calella, you will see signs indicating ‘Can Benet Vives’. The campus is 11 km from Calella, 6 of which are paved road and 5 of which are dirt roads, but in good condition. You can also take the A-7 Motorway from Barcelona or from Girona. Take the Hostalric exit, and from there go towards Tordera for 8 kilometres. About 500 meters before reaching Tordera, there is a detour to Hortsavinyà, on the right. From this detour there are signs indicating Can Benet Vives.

GPS instructions

IMPORTANT

Be careful using your GPS as it may send you to Carrer Hortsavinyá in the town of Tordera which is not the same as Can Benet. Instead, Can Benet’s location is in relation to the Hortsavinyá Hermitage.
