ACCESS BY CAR
Take the coastal motorway (C-32) to Calella, and ascend to Can Benet by a wide and well maintained road. When leaving the C-32 motorway, go towards ‘Calella center’ (not towards Platges, Playas). This places you on the national road towards Barcelona, and runs for 1 km across Calella. When you reach St. Jaume Hospital (building to the right), take the road towards Hortsavinyà, a Romanesque hermitage that gives name to the valley where Can Benet is located. From Calella, you will see signs indicating ‘Can Benet Vives’. The campus is 11 km from Calella, 6 of which are paved road and 5 of which are dirt roads, but in good condition. You can also take the A-7 Motorway from Barcelona or from Girona. Take the Hostalric exit, and from there go towards Tordera for 8 kilometres. About 500 meters before reaching Tordera, there is a detour to Hortsavinyà, on the right. From this detour there are signs indicating Can Benet Vives.
Be careful using your GPS as it may send you to Carrer Hortsavinyá in the town of Tordera which is not the same as Can Benet. Instead, Can Benet’s location is in relation to the Hortsavinyá Hermitage.
