Born in Barcelona in 1955, he became interested in anthropology and transcendental experiences at an early age.
After a spiritual experience at the age of 15, he began to explore various disciplines, such as music and psychology, until he discovered his true vocation in anthropology. He studied psychology and anthropology simultaneously, later devoting himself entirely to the latter.
He spent time living in the countryside, experimenting with primitive practices and connecting deeply with nature. During this period, he also conducted research on shamanism and wrote his first book, a classic on Amanita muscaria.
D. in anthropology, Fericgla became a world expert on shamanism and the use of psychoactive plants such as ayahuasca.
After a serious accident in 1997, his life focus shifted towards inner development and the teaching of expanded states of consciousness.
In 2000 he founded the Societat d'Etnopsicologia Aplicada i Estudis Cognitius and created Can Benet Vives, where he currently organises workshops and spiritual retreats, attracting thousands of people in search of psychological and spiritual development.
During these years, Josep Mª Fericgla has given life to his own personal blog in which he expresses from a prism of experiences and professionalism the different areas of the development of the human being.
The development of consciousness necessarily implies a moral, aesthetic, idiosyncratic and spiritual development of the individual and of collectives.
We recognise the supreme value of individuality, without underestimating the weight of the social. We value creativity and the spiritual dimension of the human being as the highest space to which we should strive.
We defend total responsible freedom, especially of conscience and communication, as the essential context for the evolution and encounter between individuals and between collectives.
